This video demonstrates how to perform a baseline correction on a spectrum in Bio-Rad's KnowItAll spectroscopy software (http://www.bio-rad.com/spectroscopy) using ProcessIt applications. Baseline correction allows you to realign the y-values of all or part of a spectrum. Baseline correction is useful for improving the appearance of the spectrum, the quality of the result from subtracting one spectrum from another, and the accuracy of integrals. It can also improve spectral searching, especially when using the Euclidean Distance and the Correlation algorithms.
