Soooooo, Let's Get Started. First the prep. work. Launch System Preferences and click the Security & Privacy icon and make sure that the, Require password immediately, option is chosen, as shown. Then, while still in System Preferences, click the Desktop & Screen Saver icon. Now click on the Screen Saver tab and then, the Hot Corners… button shown here. Choose a corner you wish, to Put Display to Sleep. I'll choose the bottom-right corner as shown. With the prep. work all done, Launch the Grab app from the Other Folder in LaunchPad, as shown here. All that's left to do, is to execute the Timed Screen function from the Grab menubar. Click on Capture and then select the Timed Screen option. There's a 10 seconds delay before the Screenshot is taken. Now, the process of Capturing a screenshot of the lock screen, is as follows: Immediately after clicking the Start Timer button, move the mouse to the chosen Hot corner, to Put The Display To Sleep. Then, move the mouse away from the Hot Corner and double click anywhere on the blank screen. You'll then see a small camera icon, wait a few seconds, and you'll hear a sort of ping sound followed by a slow-motion camera shutter sound, indicating that a screenshot has been taken. Login and you'll be presented with the screenshot of the lock-screen. So let's do it... And there you have it, a screenshot of the lock screen. That's all there is to it.
